If you live in a city that’s closer reminiscent of a concrete jungle that an evergreen paradise (ahem, Toronto), you need to execute your daily planners in a way that enables you to spend as much time outside as possible. If you can’t be at one with nature, force nature to adapt itself to man’s modern way.
The patio grill
BBQ’s on the patio are city slicker must. An overload of delicious meat (although BBQ’s are super veggie friendly by now), nineties music to entertain the neighbours over the fence and an ice bucket of beer. Summer life.
Picnic
At every damned opportunity, you should picnic, whether you take that grill from your patio, pack chips and cheese and cold meats, or use a delivery or collection option from a restaurant on the way, eating outside is the way Mother Nature intended. Use these sweet picnic maps for advice on where to pick up food and picnic in your city.
Morning run
Run to the office. Wait. First, you’ll need to make sure the office has installed a shower. Now, run to the office every morning, soak up those morning rays and get those endorphins pumping. Appreciate the oldest trick in the book and start your day with the open air.
Rooftop yoga
Does your pal have access to their building rooftop? Good. Utilise that the point that you won’t be invited back. Take a sunset yoga session at the height of the city, for free.
Outdoor cinema
There are heaps of things that you might spend winter doing inside that are also hosted outside. Outdoor cinemas are one of them, as outlined here. There are brilliant movies, old and new screened in a bunch of open air spots, and they’re often even for free.
Hit the river
A base of water is the most calming natural influence the body can benefit from. Head to a city lake or river and take a stroll. Walk the long way home from work.
Eat out of the office
We’re all really good at working hard and we should all be seriously proud of that in some moments. But eating at your desk isn’t really the healthiest way to keep a sturdy mind. Save that overtime for winter and take your delivery outside of the office when it arrives.
15 minute power-caffeine trip
On the same note, take 15 minutes in the afternoon to power walk around the block and pick up a coffee that tastes way better than the stuff that comes out of the office machine.
Beer Patios
The way to spend night time outside – beautiful bars and restaurants with outdoor seating areas. Find us here every Thursday through Monday.
